What We Believe
At The Gathering Houston, we center our faith on the teachings of Jesus and the truth of the Bible.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It reveals God’s truth and provides guidance for faith, life, and spiritual growth. Through Scripture, we learn about God’s character, His promises, and His plan for humanity.
God
We believe there is one true God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of heaven and earth, perfectly holy, loving, and just. He desires a personal relationship with every person.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth to reveal God’s love and bring salvation to humanity. Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again from the dead. Through Him we receive forgiveness, new life, and reconciliation with God.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace and cannot be earned through human effort. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ. When a person trusts in Him, their sins are forgiven and they begin a new life in relationship with God.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s presence with believers today. The Holy Spirit guides, comforts, and empowers people to live according to God’s will. Through the Spirit, believers grow in faith and are strengthened to serve others..
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ and a community of believers called to worship God, encourage one another, and share the message of Jesus with the world. The church exists to bring hope, healing, and transformation to individuals, families, and communities.
Love and Service
We believe followers of Jesus are called to live lives marked by love, humility, and service. We seek to reflect Christ’s compassion by caring for others, serving our communities, and sharing the hope found in Him.
